Armory Family Memorial

The Armory has two existing areas memorializing individual service members, one around the monument sign and another around the flagpole. The Armory Family Memorial is the third leg of the memorial, which recognizes service members and immediate family members.

Who should be recognized? Generally the answer is immediate family members, including those with military service and those closest to the service member including (but not limited to), spouse and children.

While service members make the ultimate sacrifice, service member families are partners in the commitment to support our serving military members. Families are impacted in both positive and negative ways as a result of the service of the family member. They are “all in” and deserve to be recognized as a link in the chain of military service.

How will it work?

Each memorial brick may be purchased for a nominal fee of $100. There are two options: a Veteran Memorial around the flagpole, for Veterans only, or the Armory Family Memorial for Veterans and family members.

Each brick is approximately 4 inches by 8 inches. Engraving space allows for 18 characters per line, with two lines working best for the layout. It is suggested to use the person’s first and last name on one line, followed by the branch of service or relationship to the service member on the second line.

If you are interested in purchasing bricks at $100 each, please make your check payable to Adrian Armory Community Center. Include additional information whether this is for a Veteran (around the flagpole) or for the Armory Family Memorial. Correctly spell the name for the first line of information, and the branch of service or relationship to service member. Please mail all checks to the Adrian Armory Community Center, Inc. 230 W Maumee St, Adrian MI 49221.

We welcome any additional donations from the community to cover the installation costs. The bricks are already donated and available.
