The Adrian Armory Events Center provides a unique setting for your wedding ceremony, reception, or both. While maintaining the historic value of many features throughout the building, the main event rooms offer ample space and seating arrangements for many sized gatherings.

Located in downtown Adrian, Michigan, the vintage 1920’s brick exterior showcases the design of earlier days as a National Guard Armory. However, the preservation and restoration of the wooden floors, cabinets, doors, and stained-glass interior add to the ambiance of high-end, quality workmanship. Your wedding guests will appreciate the openness of the large banquet hall, with old-fashioned charm and rustic appeal.

The “Drill Room” is the largest at 5,375 square feet, and can accommodate 325 guests at round or rectangular tables.

Rental F.A.Q.’s

*Please note, you still need to follow the specific details in your rental contract, but here are some quick answers to frequently asked questions.

When is my rental payment due?

Your first payment of 50% of the event cost is required when you reserve the date with us. The final payment PLUS $500 Facility Deposit must be made at least 30 days before your event.

Does the Armory have a catering/bartender service that we must use for our food?

No. We do have a list of caterers and other services that we recommend, (see our preferred vendors list) but you are free to use any vendors that you wish for your event, so long as they have proper food handling certification. If you are serving alcohol at your event, you must have a certified bartender on staff and provide their certificate. ONLY YOUR CERTIFIED BARTENDER IS ALLOWED BEHIND THE BAR.

Please Note: Alcoholic beverages are NOT ALLOWED outside of the Armory Building and MUST be served by your certified Bartender!

Will I need liability insurance for my event?

Yes. You can usually purchase one day rental insurance. Most insurance companies can add this through your homeowner’s policy. To receive a quote from our preferred event insurance provider Kemner Iott. Please note that if you are serving alcohol at your event, you must have alcohol listed as an insurable item on your policy.

Non-profit organizations serving alcohol at their event must get a special use permit from Michigan Liquor Control Commission – plan to apply for this at least two months before your event.

What time can we arrive to decorate for our event?

Should you decorate on the day of your event the building will be open starting at Noon; however, remember your rental contract for the Armory is based on a 9 hour event. You may also pay a decoration rental fee of $400 for half-day access (4 hours) the day before – this is recommended for weddings and larger events. Day before decorating must take place between 9-5. You can not have anything hung on the walls or stuck with tape. Open flames are not allowed, including candles for decoration – you may use battery operated candles as a substitute. Should you desire to have your Ceremony at the Armory, additional charges will apply. Please talk with our Event Manager for details.


If all spaces in our parking lot are full, there are several other options for parking that are only a 3 minute or less walk from our building. We will provide you with parking maps to send to your guests.

Cleaning – what is the renter’s responsibility?

Everything that comes with you must go: your decorations, supplies, trash, etc. Trash must be picked up and put into the facility dumpster near the back of the building. Any spills/messes must be cleaned up by renter. We will do the sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc. after your event. If the facility is not sufficiently cleaned, we will charge you a cleaning fee. Please see your rental contract for details.

Closing time ♪♫ You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here.

You will have until 12:30 am to leave the facility. Last call for alcohol must be at or before 11 pm, the bar closes at 11:15pm, the music must be off by 11:30 pm, and the facility must be clean and empty by 12:30. If you must leave some boxes for pickup later, you must come back Monday morning after 10 am when we open. If left later than this, they are subject to a storage fee. PLEASE make sure all of your Vendors are aware of our closing schedule. Additional fees will be charged to you if Vendors do not adhere to our hours.

Event Planning

We want to help make sure your event is a success! Our Event Manager will work with you to create a timeline and floor plan. Any changes to your plan less than 15 days before your event are subject to fees.
